Sgnature petition drive update:

EqualityMaine has been actively collecting signatures all over the state to get "An Act to Allow Marriage Licenses for Same-Sex Couples and Protect Religious Freedom" on the ballot in November 2012  Our local goal was to contribute 1,000 signatures of registered voters toward the statewide target of 80,000 signatures by the end of Election Day 2011. We doubled that and will send over 2,000 signatures.

Lincoln County Coalition for Marriage Equality is a nonpartisan, nonsectarian, all-volunteer group working to build local support for marriage equality for all Maine families.

We support the rights of gay and lesbian Mainers and their families to participate in and be protected by the institution of civil marriage. Our group grew out of our involvement with the No On 1 campaign in 2009, when as part of Protect Maine Equality we worked to preserve the civil marriage rights of same-sex couples.

We invite you to learn more about our work and join us in our efforts.

Our 35 volunteers in 12 towns collected over signatures at the polls on Election Day! Adding that to what we had previously collected, we have doubled our pledge of 1000 signatures toward the statewide goal.
